Goondiwindi Regional Volunteer groups get much needed support…

Six volunteer groups in the Regional Council area have received funding under the Federal Government’s Volunteer Small Equipment Grant. The Goondiwindi AFL club will receive $1,500, the Goondiwindi Hospital Auxiliary $2,170, the Lions Club of Inglewood $3,170, Roos Goondiwindi Soccer Club $2,400, Texas Golf Club $3,978.90 and the Yelarbon State School P&C $3,108.75.

Now this is a Federal grant and the State Government have a similar grant open at the moment closing 3rd December for up to $5,000.  There is a post on this on this web blog.

My advice to community groups in our region is to have a go at this funding.  $5,000 can go a long way when you are a small community organisation.

Congratulations to those clubs that were successful and to those that weren’t.. keep trying and don’t give up.

And a side note we can only wish all our volunteer groups were made up of  young people as pictured above!
